All moved out of old living and dining rooms

On Sat. at 7 a.m., three friends (Jeff, Gregg, and Travis) helped Dick take all of the furniture out of the existing rooms.  Prior to the guys arriving, Cathy and Elaine had packed all of the contents.  We are storing all of the china, glasses, etc. in our current family room and the furniture in the garage.  Once the basement floors are poured, we are now ready for the framing to begin.

Holes in the basement wall for door ways and the stone slinger

The basement will now have two additional rooms off of the existing shop at the North end of the house.  The East room will be a storage area for Cathy and the West room a new shop.  THis will allow the existing shop to be turned into more living area some time in the future.  Once the existing walls had doorways cut in them, the stone slinger came and put gravel into the areas where the concrete floors will be poured.

We came home to foundation walls

While we were in Washington, DC, the concrete vendor poured the foundation walls.

Time Away from Project

We had the pleasure of spending 4 days with Julie, Jack and Caroline.  For the last two days, Julie and Jack took a trip to New York.  NaNa and Grandpapa spent those days with our wonderful granddaughter.

Then the footers

On Friday, the men came and put the footers in for the foundation walls

Then came the big dig

The holes for the footers and foundation were dug

Then the destruction

It took only four hours to rip off the front porch
